Arsenal have now reached an agreement with Newcastle United to sign the Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

According to French publication L’Equipe, the 28-year-old had already agreed personal terms with the Premier League champions over a five-year contract, and the two clubs have now come to an agreement as well.

Bruno Guimaraes deal agreed

Newcastle were holding out for a fee of €100 million, and it seems that the two teams have finally reached a compromise. Arsenal reportedly submitted a €90 million offer earlier today, and Newcastle have decided to accept it.

The final details are yet to be resolved, but the deal is now closer to completion.

Meanwhile, French outfit Lyon will receive €8 million from the Brazilians transfer because of a sell-on clause included in his deal when they sold him to Newcastle.

The 28-year-old has been exceptional in the Premier League, and he should prove to be an asset for Arsenal. They need more control, creativity, and technical ability in the middle of the park.

Guimaraes needs a big move

The Brazilian will be delighted to sort out his future as well. He is at the peak of his career, and he will look to compete at the highest level and fight for major trophies regularly. It is clear that he has outgrown Newcastle, and the Magpies are unlikely to be able to compete at a high level next season. They have lost multiple players this summer, and Eddie Howe has left the club as well.

It would be ideal for him to join a team where he can fight for major trophies consistently. The move to Arsenal seems ideal for all parties, and it remains to be seen whether he can make an immediate impact at the London club next season.
