Arsenal reach €90m agreement to sign Bruno Guimaraes
The Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal transfer has taken a decisive step forward after the Gunners reportedly reached a €90million agreement in principle with Newcastle United.
Arsenal submitted the improved offer on Friday after Newcastle initially valued their captain at €100million.
The two clubs must still settle the exact add-on structure and agent fees. However, the Brazil international now appears increasingly likely to complete his move to the Emirates Stadium.
Guimaraes has already agreed personal terms on a five-year Arsenal contract.

According to Get French Football News, citing L’Équipe, Arsenal’s €90million proposal convinced Newcastle to approve an agreement in principle.
The Gunners had previously refused to meet Newcastle’s €100million valuation but returned with a compromise offer after weeks of negotiations.
No medical or official announcement has taken place. Arsenal must also complete the remaining contractual details before Guimaraes can formally become Mikel Arteta’s latest signing.
The 28-year-old has made his desire to join Arsenal clear and already accepted a five-year contract earlier in the window.
His arrival would give Arteta another proven Premier League midfielder capable of operating alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.
Guimaraes offers defensive aggression, control under pressure and the ability to progress possession through midfield. ReadArsenal recently examined why Bruno Guimaraes could be the perfect midfielder for Arteta’s system.
Former club Lyon are also expected to benefit from the agreement.
The French side negotiated a 20 per cent share of any profit when Guimaraes joined Newcastle for €50million in 2022. A €90million transfer would therefore earn Lyon approximately €8million.
The Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal deal is not officially complete, but the reported club agreement removes the largest obstacle to his move.
