Vinicius Jr scored four goals in five matches for Brazil at the World Cup and is attracting interest from Arsenal

Real Madrid have informed Vinicius Jr that he must either commit his future to the club or he will be sold this summer. It emerged last weekend that Arsenal inquired about the Brazil international, who has one year remaining on his contract at the Bernabeu.
And now, according to Marca, Real have hit the forward with an ultimatum ahead of his return to the club for pre-season training. Senior figures at Real have informed Vinicius’ camp that the latest contract offer that they submitted is final and there will be no further increase nor another round of negotiations.
Should Vinicius accept, then his deal will be renewed, but should he reject the offer then Madrid will open the door to a sale this very summer with the aim of preventing the Brazilian from entering his final year of contract and being able to leave for free later on.
The Gunners are willing to spend big on an elite player to match Mikel Arteta’s calls to show ambition after last season’s Champions League final defeat to PSG. Arsenal have already bolstered their attacking options this sumemr with the £34million signing of Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge earlier this month.
And speaking to the club’s in-house media channels from a warm-weather training camp in Spain earlier this week, Gunners boss Arteta admitted he will 'require a better squad and better individuals' for the forthcoming season.
He said: “This has to be the start and this has to be the standard. Excellence has to be our standard and this has to drive us to attack the future.
“The way we behave daily with more and more determination and ambition because we’ve shown that we’ve got it.
“Now we have to show that we belong to this level and we want to increase and take this football club to a different dimension.”

Before he added: “We all know about the context of this transfer window. From ownership to the board, the sporting director and myself, we know that we want to take this club to a different level.
“That is going to require a better squad, better individuals. We have identified where we have opportunities to grow and to improve and to evolve our game and what is going to be needed to achieve that.
“Hopefully very soon we can start to put things in a very concrete way.”
