Chelsea ready second bid to sign £80m Bournemouth midfielder
Chelsea transfer pursuit for Alex Scott is set to continue, with the Blues reportedly preparing an improved offer of around £70million for the Bournemouth midfielder.
Chelsea saw their opening £64million proposal rejected earlier this summer. Bournemouth remain determined to keep Scott and are understood to value the 22-year-old at approximately £80million.
The improved bid has not yet been submitted, while no agreement has been reached between the clubs.

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea have completed more work on a possible Scott deal than any other interested club.
Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham have also shown interest, while Arsenal made an enquiry earlier in the window.
However, Bournemouth’s strong financial position allows them to reject another proposal. The Cherries qualified for Europe last season and do not need to approve a major sale.
Chelsea’s expected signing of Jordan Henderson will reportedly not affect their pursuit of Scott. Henderson would offer short-term experience, while Scott fits the club’s longer-term recruitment model.

The Blues could also generate funds by reducing their crowded defensive department.
Trevoh Chalobah, Benoît Badiashile and Axel Disasi are reportedly available for £35million, £30million and £25million respectively. Chelsea could therefore raise a combined £90million if clubs meet those valuations.
Alonso has confirmed that he wants only four or five central defenders in his final squad following Maxence Lacroix’s arrival.
Scott remains Chelsea’s leading young midfield target, but another £70million proposal may still fall short of Bournemouth’s demands.
