Real Madrid have reportedly issued Vinicius Jr with an ultimatum, demanding he pledges his future to the club or face being offloaded this summer. The winger continues to be linked with a blockbuster move to Arsenal, who are eager to add a left-sided attacker ahead of the new Premier League campaign. It has long been a weak spot for the Gunners, who will be on the hunt for back-to-back titles when the campaign gets underway next month.

It emerged this week that Arsenal had made enquiries regarding Vinicius, who has just one year left on his contract at the Bernabeu. It's also been reported that discussions over a new deal have failed to prove fruitful. As such, Real Madrid face a dilemma over whether to sell this summer or risk losing him for nothing in a year's time.

Now, according to Marca, the Spanish giants have presented him with a stark ultimatum ahead of his return for pre-season training.

Senior figures at the club have made it clear to Vinicius' representatives that their most recent contract proposal is their final offer, with no further improvements or additional negotiations on the table.

Should Vinicius accept, his deal will be renewed accordingly, but should he turn it down, Madrid will sanction a sale this summer.

It's claimed they are keen to avoid the Brazilian entering the final year of his contract and potentially walking away on a free transfer.

Arsenal are prepared to splash out on a world-class signing to satisfy Mikel Arteta's demands for genuine ambition following last season's Champions League final defeat to PSG.

Club-to-club discussions are yet to take place, but the move has already been unanimously approved by Arsenal's hierarchy.

It's claimed that Vinicius is at the top of the club's shortlist to bolster their attack, although their interest is at an early stage and there is no guarantee that a deal will materialise.

Vinicius impressed during the World Cup, scoring four goals in five games before Brazil were dumped out by Norway in the round of 16.

Last season, he registered 22 goals in all competitions for Real Madrid despite the club failing to win any trophies for the second year in a row.
