As per reliable journalist David Lynch (via The Spurs Watch), Liverpool would consider an offer in the region of £65-70m for the 27-year-old this summer. This means the Reds would be willing to listen to offers around that figure as they look to cash in on the Dutchman before his contract expires. The onus now falls on Spurs to make their move for the prolific forward as the club looks to strengthen its squad before the new season begins.
Cody Gakpo could prove to be an excellent investment for Spurs. The Dutchman would be an ideal fit for Roberto de Zerbi’s high-tempo, positionally fluid system at N17. He thrives as an inverted left-winger, operating in the half-space between the full-back and the centre-back. Not only that, but the 27-year-old is also capable of leading the line as a #9, linking play effectively with the wingers while operating between the lines. However, it remains to be seen whether the Lilywhites are willing to splash the cash on a player who has struggled for consistency at Anfield.
