Everton eye advantage over AC Milan as Arsenal set Nwaneri price
Arsenal have set their asking price for Ethan Nwaneri, and the structure of any deal could decide who wins the race for him.
According to Corriere dello Sport, via David Schill, Arsenal want around €35m (£30m) for the 19-year-old. Everton are preparing to move, banking on Nwaneri’s own preference for a permanent transfer to give them an edge. AC Milan remain interested too, but are said to favour a loan with an option to buy — a structure that sits awkwardly with Arsenal’s wish for an outright sale.
That gap in approach could prove decisive. Arsenal are believed to want the deal done as a permanent transfer rather than another loan, having already sent Nwaneri to Marseille in January without seeing the move pay off.
He managed just nine Ligue 1 appearances there, and was reportedly criticised in France for a lack of urgency in his performances.
Everton have been credited with interest in Nwaneri since that January window, when a deadline-day move for Tyrique George took priority instead. The teenager returned to Arsenal this summer still short of regular first-team football, with competition from Noni Madueke restricting his opportunities under Mikel Arteta.
RB Leipzig and Fulham have also been credited with checking on the winger’s availability, though neither is reported to be as advanced as Everton or Milan.
