Chelsea Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Romeo Lavia, Geovany Quenda&Emmanuel Emegha

**Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has confirmed that Romeo Lavia is back to full fitness.**

The Belgian international missed the 6-4 friendly win over Western Sydney Wanderers on Tuesday as a precaution after feeling minor discomfort in his hamstring.

However, when asked about Lavia’s fitness in his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of the match against Tottenham, Alonso said:

“He is okay for tomorrow.”

**Expected Return Date – Saturday 1st August vs Tottenham**

The winger missed the start of the club’s tour of Australia and Asia with a minor knock, but BBC journalist Nizaar Kinsella [says](https://x.com/NizaarKinsella/status/2082832379689816440) he is set to join up with the [**first-team squad**](https://chelseanews.com/blog/chelsea-transfer-news-benoit-badiashile/) very soon:

“Geovany Quenda is planning to meet Chelsea in Hong Kong. He’s keen to kickstart pre-season now.”

Having not trained in the build-up to the Spurs game, he isn’t expected to feature this weekend.

However, Quenda should be in contention for the three subsequent friendlies ahead of the new season.

**Expected Return Date – Wednesday 5th August vs Juventus**

Emmanuel Emegha

---------------

The striker suffered a hamstring injury during a behind-closed-doors friendly against Bromley last week.

Emegha scored in the 3-0 win, but he was forced off the pitch, and he could be on the sidelines for much longer than either Lavia or Quenda.

There have been reports that the 23-year-old could be loaned out before the end of the transfer window, despite only moving to Stamford Bridge at the start of the summer.

However, a major injury would put an end to any transfer talk, as well as preventing him from making a good impression during pre-season. Emegha spent a considerable amount of time on the treatment table last season at Strasbourg. He only made 10 appearances in total, after being sidelined with two separate hamstring problems, a muscle tear and a dead leg.

**Expected Return Date – Unknown**
