DANNY WARD has been reflecting on his return to play at Yankee Stadium.
He had previously played at the iconic New York venue for Liverpool, but he came up against his former club when he took his place between the posts for Wrexham in their pre-season friendly.
It was Liverpool who came out on top in a narrow 1-0 margin, thanks to a deflected goal from England international Rio Ngumoha with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining.
Ward told the club's YouTube channel: "My last time here at this stadium was with Liverpool against Man City.
"So, to be here playing against Liverpool for Wrexham, you know, it's testament to how far the club's come in what is a really short space of time.
"So, yeah, not the result we wanted, but plenty of positives, loads of real good work there and, yeah, holds us in good stead now."
Wrexham bring the curtain down on their pre-season programme against Sunderland on Sunday, with the friendly being played in Philadelphia.
