Everton fans are set to be welcomed by a series of fan events at HSV Hamburg on Saturday as the German side have planned a full day of events for all fans.
Hamburger Morgenpost reports that HSV have planned a ‘Volkspark festival’ ahead of the Everton double-header on Saturday.
Fan festival offerings
The newspaper explains that there are many highlights surrounding the two games, with thousands of fans expected to flock to the stadium on Saturday.
Access to the festival itself is free of charge. It starts at 9am, with the first talk on the main stage beginning at 10:15am. There are also lots of hands-on activities for fans. The ‘partner’ areas offers bouncy castles and goal walls while HSV departments offer darts and hyrox in the sports area.
There are also food stands, fans merchandise stands and a five-a-side football pitch. All of these will run until around 2:30m, around an hour after the women’s game kicks off.
Before the two games, the teams are set to appear on stage. Board members Eric Huwer and Kathleen Krüger will tap open the first beer barrel at around 12pm. The coaching team around Merlin Polzin will also speak.
33,000 tickets sold
HSV have sold around 33,000 for the game, including 1,000 going to England and Everton in advance.
Between the two games, the band “Abschlach!” (“I love my Hamburg very much”) and the HSV cheerleaders will perform live.
There is also a stadium show with presenter Christian Stübinger. Fans will have to remain in the stadium for these events.
One surprise for fans is likely to be HSV playing in their new away jerseys, despite being at home. Hype is brewing over that particular shirt, and it seems the German side want to capitalise. Whether Everton go with their home shirt or away shirt, isn’t clear.
