Liverpool have reached the end of another week without making any further signings, but progress appears to be being made behind the scenes.
The Reds are reportedly preparing a bid for PSG winger Bradley Barcola as they look to secure a deal for the French attacker, who is valued at around £140million.

Liverpool have now submitted an offer to the Ligue 1 giants, with further negotiations expected between the two clubs. The proposal is worth around £100 million, plus additional add-ons linked to potential Premier League and Champions League success achieved by the Reds.
Andoni Iraola’s side have also completed their second pre-season fixture, with Rio Ngumoha’s second-half strike enough to earn Liverpool a 1-0 victory over Wrexham in New York City.
Liverpool will now turn their attention to Sunday’s clash with Leeds United in Chicago as preparations for the new season continue.
Meanwhile, transfer activity involving former Liverpool goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi is beginning to take shape. The 36-year-old RB Leipzig captain is preparing to leave the Bundesliga club after 11 years with the German side.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Gulacsi has agreed personal terms with Villarreal as he looks set for a new challenge in Spain.
Romano posted on X: “The agreement is done on player side and almost done between clubs with RB Leipzig. Final details being clarified then green light and here we go.”
Gulacsi faced increased competition from highly rated Belgian goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt last season, but the experienced Hungarian retained the trust of head coach Ole Werner and remained RB Leipzig’s first-choice goalkeeper for much of the 2025/26 campaign.
Vandevoordt eventually replaced Gulacsi in April, signalling Leipzig’s planned transition between the posts. The veteran goalkeeper was later given a farewell appearance on the final matchday of the Bundesliga season.
A move to Villarreal would allow Gulacsi to continue playing at a high level while ending his decade-long association with Leipzig.
Peter Gulacsi initially joined Liverpool on loan from MTK Hungaria before making the move permanent in 2008. He provided cover for Pepe Reina and Brad Jones but never made a senior appearance for the Reds, spending time on loan at Hull City, Tranmere Rovers and Hereford United.
Gulacsi left Liverpool for Red Bull Salzburg in 2013 before joining RB Leipzig two years later, where he established himself as a key figure.
