Italian giants Inter Milan are interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones this summer

Inter have renewed their interest in Curtis Jones and have contacted Liverpool over a deal worth £30m.
That figure still falls short of the £35m valuation the Reds have reluctantly placed on Jones, however.
The midfielder has a year left on his contract and has been a target for Italian giants Inter all year. The Nerazzurri initially opened dialogue in January only to be informed Liverpool had no intention of losing anyone that late into the winter window.
An offer of around £21m was rejected out of hand early last month and Liverpool felt at that time that further negotiations would be futile given the size gap in valuations between the two clubs.
Intermediaries working on behalf of Inter have now contacted Liverpool once more and have informed them of the Serie A side’s willingness to up their offer.
Liverpool were looking for £35m for the city-centre-born midfielder though and it’s unclear if sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Andoni Iraola would be prepared to sanction a sale at this stage.
Jones has made 228 appearances since his debut in January 2019 but has been seeking further first-team opportunities as a regular starter.
Iraola said earlier this month that he hoped to keep Jones and extend his contract on Merseyside, saying: “I will have the chance to speak with him today.
“I rate Curtis very highly. For me he is a great, great player and I hope he can continue with us and continue performing the way he has been performing.
“It’s very important that he’s scouse, that he’s from here. I also like the personality. From the outside at least he looks like a player with good character and I hope we can keep him, not only for this year but for more time.”
