In a recent post on X, respected journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that Chelsea are set to sign former Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson on a two-year deal. It has been stated that the Blues will secure the services of the English talent on a free transfer this week.
Henderson’s Important Role at Brentford Last Season
Henderson enjoyed a good run of form at the English club in the previous campaign as he put in a string of influential displays for them in the Premier League. The England international scored once and grabbed three assists in 34 matches for Brentford last season in all competitions.
The 36-year-old is currently one of the most experienced central midfielders in the Premier League. Hence, Chelsea would do well to sign him on a short-term contract this summer.
