Newcastle United's new head coach Matthias Jaissle wants a sit-down with club captain Bruno Guimaraes - amid increasing talk of Arsenal finally tabling an offer for the Brazil international.
Jaissle is due in La Manga on Saturday, while the South American is scheduled to fly in on Sunday, with the German head coach keen to get Bruno back to work on Monday morning.
The 38-year-old will sell his fresh vision and philosophy to the players in meetings this week as he looks to turn the page in the next chapter of the club's post-takeover story.
Inevitable claims that Bruno's arrival 48 hours after initially expected sparked fresh talk of a move to Arsenal on Friday, but Chronicle Live was told, once again, there had been no bid for the player - and he is contractually obliged to hook up this weekend.
A well-placed source at the Arsenal end suggested that, despite claims of a bid of more than £80m, which came via French reports, the Gunners' valuation on Bruno may not stretch beyond £70m.
If that were to be the case, Newcastle sporting director Ross Wilson and CEO David Hopkinson are not likely to budge. The pair have full control on making the decision with no interference from PIF on the cards.
The duo worked with PIF after Jaissle emerged as the man they deemed fit to take the project on from Eddie Howe, coming from Al-Ahli. Howe's paperwork was being completed after ending his long-term contract at St James' Park on Thursday following the 4-1 defeat to Bristol City.
Meanwhile, talk of Joelinton leaving Newcastle has been played down behind the scenes at United, with the midfield enforcer heading to La Manga for pre-season.
Joelinton did not feature in the 1-1 draw with Gateshead or the 4-1 defeat at the hands of Bristol City, after a few fitness concerns.
But he is running again and expected to play his part in the trip to Spain, with the friendly against Valencia also a possibility for the ex-Hoffenheim star.
Insiders dismissed talk of a transfer to the Saudi Pro League yesterday, pointing out he is 30 later this year and still has two years left on his contract with no approaches this summer so far.
