Everton bid £35m for Galatasaray winger Yılmaz

Everton have offered around £35 million for Galatasaray winger Barış Alper Yılmaz, according to Turkish journalist Burhan Can Terzi.

Club officials travelled to Istanbul to present the bid. Galatasaray have been holding out for closer to €50 million (£43m) in recent valuations, and neither club has confirmed the offer publicly.

Yılmaz, 26, has been a target since December 2024. Tottenham and Fulham have also been linked by Turkish reports this week, though that interest has not been confirmed by clubs on either side.

Galatasaray turned down a £25m approach from West Ham in January 2025 and have raised their asking price since, with figures between €45m and €50m reported in recent months.

He has scored eight goals and added 11 assists in 30 Süper Lig appearances this season. Yılmaz plays across the front line and can cover at right-back. His contract runs until 2028, so Galatasaray are under no pressure to sell cheap mid-window.

The interest comes as Everton face the prospect of losing Iliman Ndiaye this summer. Al-Hilal and Manchester United are both tracking the Senegal winger, with Everton reportedly holding out for £70m. A departure would leave Moyes short of proven quality in the wide positions.

Everton’s permanent business so far this summer includes Hayden Hackney, Tyrique George and Merlin Röhl. None of them fills the same profile as Yılmaz would.
