Liverpool are still working on a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain talent Bradley Barcola, and there is now a fresh update on the situation. Andoni Iraola's men are currently working on their preparations for the new season, although an argument between Curtis Jones and his teammates dominated the headlines after the latest pre-season win, over Wrexham.
Iraola will be hoping to smooth over that particular situation, but in the meantime, Liverpool are working to add to the squad with a few quality new signings, and the winger spot is being prioritised following this summer's Mo Salah exit.
Barcola is target number one, and talks are said to be ongoing at this stage.
Liverpool still hoping to reduce Barcola price

According to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool remain locked in talks over the signing of Barcola, but they will not be meeting the French club's giant asking price. Romano said on his YouTube channel: "Bradley Barcola is a top target for Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are working on the Mika Godts deal. Paris Saint-Germain are working on several fronts because Bradley Barcola is subject to strong interest from Liverpool. Liverpool want to bid for Barcola, Liverpool want to go for Barcola. Liverpool are talking to PSG, Liverpool are talking to the agents of the player. Personal terms are not an issue.
"Barcola will not sign a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain, so Liveprool are more than ready to enter this conversation. It's important to understand the next steps, so the official bid and also the financial side, because Liverpool are not paying 170million euros, I can tell you this.
"So, they need to find a reasonable price and the conversation will continue. Liverpool are talking to Paris Saint-Germain. I think there will be no update this weekend, so you can relax, Liverpool fans. We will see how the conversations continue, but for sure, Liverpool are working on Barcola."
Iraola on Liverpool's clear winger need

Speaking just under two weeks ago, Liverpool boss Iraola made it clear he wants more winger signed this summer. He said: "I think it is difficult to say a number. When the market is open, you have to be always open to new options to improve the squad.
"There are obvious situations where we need to sign players. Winger for example, we definitely need to sign a winger, but there are other situations where we will have to analyze what the market gives you, what is the cost, how we also see the players we have. We have some tricky positions where we have injured players that we trust, but it is still not the ideal situation, so it will depend on a lot of things."
