Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah has agreed a contract to move to Saudi Arabia this summer, at least according to one report in Turkiye.

Salah was strongly of interest to Besiktas earlier in the summer but that didn't happen (or hasn't happened yet). His representative, Ramy Abbas, has been keen to stress several times that no decision has been made yet when various other suggestions of an agreement being in place have emerged.

The Istanbul outlet Sabah claims Salah has agreed a $25M per season deal with Al Ittihad, though some in Egypt have branded such claims as "nonsense", playing down the latest speculation.

A decision on where Salah is heading will surely emerge soon, given that the new season is edging closer. The new campaigns in Turkiye and Saudi Arabia both begin in under two weeks.

At the end of last season, Salah spoke out against the tactical approach of Arne Slot, insisting that Liverpool had to be more intense in its style.

That wish appears to have been granted. One of the chief reasons for the Reds moving Slot on and bringing in Andoni Iraola was his brand of football, which is more high-intensity.

Robbie Fowler, who has been with the Reds on their US tour this week, told Liverpool.com that he is already seeing good signs.

"I mean, we’re Liverpool. Every season, you’ve got to be ambitious and say we’re going to win the league. Whether you do that or not, that’s a different matter," Fowler said.

"You’ve got to remember we are Liverpool. Let’s be big, let’s be bold, let’s be ambitious. We’re in to win the league. Okay, it’s going to be tough, but we’ve got to have that attitude because you’re playing (for) this badge.

"Good start, the intensity and the levels were probably missing last year.

"I don’t want to speak bad of Arne, but I think there was a point where we’re watching Liverpool and it was fairly evident that something needed to happen in terms of the team being proactive and getting on the front foot.

"I think the fans need that to give them a little bit of a lift as well. We’ve seen many times in the past how those supporters can drag that team, and if you’ve got that front foot defending and attacking football team, it’s fairly easy for the support to get behind."

Liverpool.com says: Salah's next move will be an interesting one. The Saudi Pro League will be there for him as long as he is still playing, so he should pick somewhere with a higher level for the time being.
