There have been some encouraging signs for Chelsea in the first-half of a not-so-friendly pre-season friendly with Tottenham at the Accor Stadium in Sydney this evening.
Sandro Tonali gave Spurs an early lead Down Under with the Italian's strike from the edge of the box taking a huge deflection off Levi Colwill. Chelsea weren't behind for long, though, with Estevao Willian heading in just moments after Tonali's opener.
Both managers named really strong line-ups given it is a pre-season friendly. It made for a fiercely-contested London derby Down Under. Bobby Vincent is in Sydney to rate the Chelsea players based on their first-half displays.
Teddy Sharman-Lowe
Another start for the goalkeeper with Robert Sanchez absent. Nothing he could do about Tonali's goal - he was completely wrong-footed. Good save to deny Mathys Tel not long before the half-time break. 7
Marco Palestra
A first start for Palestra. The Italian took up some really high positions down the right-hand side. A physical specimen who loves a duel. 7
Wesley Fofana
Fofana was front-footed and aggressive against the Tottenham attacking line. Sometimes he risks getting caught out but he did well in the first-half. 6
Levi Colwill
Chelsea's captain for the first-half. A fairly comfortable evening so far for Colwill. Not much he could do about Tonali's goal. 6
Jorrel Hato
The Dutchman started after missing Tuesday's win over Western Sydney Wanderers. Hato can be forgiven for a few rusty moments. 6
Dario Essugo
Fresh off the back of a strong performance earlier in the week, Essugo was given the nod once again. Clattered by Conor Gallagher early on and was down in some pain but fortunately he was okay to carry on. Neat and tidy without setting the world alight. 6
Romeo Lavia
A boost to have the Belgian back. Kept the ball ticking along nicely. Did well to win it high up and set up Joao Pedro on 34 minutes. 6
Estevao Willian
Estevao picked up an excellent position at the far post, and gambled when nobody else did, to equalise for Chelsea in the first-half. Great anticipation from the Brazilian winger. 8
Cole Palmer
Palmer was finding space but his Chelsea teammates were unable to get the ball to him as often as they would have liked. 6
Jamie Gittens
The winger is looking like a different beast at the moment. While his cross took a huge deflection, Gittens still delivered a dangerous ball and the assist counts as his. Chelsea's most dangerous player. 8
Joao Pedro
Tuesday's hat-trick hero. He knew he was in a battle immediately with Jan Paul van Hecke, his former Brighton teammate, who went through him just minutes in. And then again moments later. Battled well. 6
