Matias Fernandez-Pardo has reportedly informed Lille he wants to leave the Ligue 1 club this summer, fuelling speculation over a potential move to the Premier League amid interest from Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.
Multiple reports in France claim the 21-year-old forward has asked Lille’s hierarchy to consider offers before the transfer window closes, believing the time is right to take the next step in his career following an impressive breakthrough season.
However, Lille are understood to be resisting the player’s request. Club president Olivier Létang has reportedly made it clear Fernandez-Pardo remains part of the club’s long-term plans and is not currently available for transfer, despite growing interest from several of Europe’s leading clubs.
Fernandez-Pardo has emerged as one of the most highly rated young attackers in French football since joining Lille from Gent in 2024. Capable of playing across the front line, the Belgian has attracted widespread attention with his pace, technical ability and versatility, leading to reports that a number of Premier League clubs have been monitoring his progress throughout the past year.
Liverpool are among the clubs most frequently linked with the forward as they continue to assess attacking reinforcements, while Arsenal are also reported to have retained a longstanding interest in the youngster. CHELSEA have likewise been credited with monitoring Fernandez-Pardo as the London club continues its policy of targeting elite young talent with high development potential.
Reports suggest Lille value Fernandez-Pardo at around €70 million, a figure that could deter potential suitors unless negotiations soften later in the window. None of the Premier League clubs linked with the player have publicly confirmed their interest, and there has been no indication that formal offers have yet been submitted.
Fernandez-Pardo’s reported desire to leave follows a campaign in which he established himself as one of Lille’s standout performers, enhancing his reputation both domestically and on the international stage. His performances have strengthened the belief among Europe’s elite that he possesses the qualities to develop into a top-level attacker.
Despite the transfer speculation, Lille remain in a strong negotiating position with Fernandez-Pardo under a long-term contract. Unless the French club changes its stance or receives an offer that meets its valuation, the forward could remain in Ligue 1 for the start of the new season.
With several weeks remaining in the transfer window, Fernandez-Pardo’s future is expected to remain one of the most closely watched stories involving Europe’s emerging attacking talents. Clubs are likely to continue monitoring developments as they weigh up whether to test Lille’s resolve before the deadline
