Sandro Tonali put Tottenham ahead before Estevao headed Chelsea level from Jamie Gittens’ delivery.
Kevin Danso was then sent off shortly after half-time for bringing down João Pedro, but Xabi Alonso’s side failed to make their numerical advantage count before Richarlison punished them late on.
**Teddy Sharman-Lowe – 6**
Drafted in following Robert Sanchez’s minor injury. Had little chance with Tonali’s heavily deflected opener or Richarlison’s late winner and was rarely tested otherwise.
**Marco Palestra – 7**
Another encouraging performance. Aggressive when defending against Mathys Tel and regularly pushed forward to provide Chelsea with width down the right.
**Wesley Fofana – 5**
A shaky performance. Fofana was fortunate to avoid conceding a penalty following his challenge on Andy Robertson shortly before half-time and never looked completely comfortable.
**Levi Colwill – 6**
Unfortunate for the opening goal as Tonali’s effort took a significant deflection off him. Generally composed when Chelsea built possession from defence.
**Jorrel Hato – 6**
Moved centrally when Chelsea formed their back three in possession. Handled Manor Solomon reasonably well without having a major influence further forward.
**Dario Essugo – 4**
A difficult afternoon on a rare start. Struggled to impose himself in midfield and Chelsea lacked enough control alongside Lavia before the changes arrived.
**Romeo Lavia – 5**
Produced an important contribution for the equaliser by winning possession from Lucas Bergvall, but his overall display was inconsistent.
**Estevao – 7**
Chelsea’s brightest attacker. Timed his run superbly to head home the equaliser and later forced Antonin Kinsky into an excellent save that pushed his effort onto the crossbar.
**Cole Palmer – 6**
Quiet by his usual standards. Palmer became more involved once Tottenham went down to ten men but struggled to create the decisive opening Chelsea needed.
**Jamie Gittens – 6**
Delivered the cross which eventually found Estevao for Chelsea’s equaliser and showed flashes of his threat from the left without consistently troubling Tottenham.
**João Pedro – 6**
Worked hard across the forward line and reacted sharply to Danso’s mistake to draw the red card. However, Chelsea needed more from their striker once they gained the numerical advantage.
**Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli – 6**
Given the entire second half and looked comfortable alongside Chelsea’s senior players. A useful experience for the youngster.
**Aaron Anselmino – 6**
Replaced Hato and kept things relatively simple in possession. Helped Chelsea circulate the ball as they pushed Tottenham deeper.
**Dastan Satpayev – 6**
Moved onto the right after replacing Estevao. Found it difficult to make a major impact during a second half disrupted by constant substitutions.
**Josh Acheampong – 6**
Operated at right-back and was rarely troubled defensively. Tried to offer support further forward as Chelsea chased a winner.
**Omari Kellyman – 6**
Another opportunity to build minutes after his injury problems. Saw some of the ball in advanced areas without producing a decisive moment.
**Liam Delap – 6**
Made several runs and offered himself inside the penalty area, but Chelsea struggled to provide him with enough service against Tottenham’s deep defence.
**Reggie Walsh – 6**
Tried to find pockets of space against ten men and showed confidence in possession, although Tottenham restricted the space around their penalty area.
**Tosin Adarabioyo – 6**
Took the captain’s armband and encouraged Chelsea to push higher. Helped keep Tottenham pinned back for long periods before the late winner.
**Mamadou Sarr – 5**
Had relatively little defending to do after his introduction but was caught out as Richarlison reacted quickest to the rebound for Tottenham’s stoppage-time winner.
**Reggie Watson – 6**
Limited opportunities to influence proceedings as Tottenham dropped deeper and focused almost entirely on protecting their goal.
