According to David Ornstein, Everton have reached an agreement with Arsenal over the transfer of Christian Norgaard.
The Danish international signed for the Gunners from Brentford last summer, but failed to make any real impact in Premier League terms.
He made just one start in the league, and that came on the final day against Crystal Palace after the title had been won and Arsenal were crowned champions. In just 7 Premier League appearances, he mustered just 101 minutes of playing time.
In total, the 32 year old made 20 appearances, providing depth and cover in the cup competitions.
Brought in to fill a gap, Norgaard’s experience in the dressing room was useful, and even if he didn’t play as much as he would have liked, he will leave North London as a Premier League winner. Best of luck, Mr Nargle.
A fee of around £7m is being reported, and his place in the squad is likely to be filled by Brazil international Bruno Guimaraes who, according to reports, will join the club next week after Arsenal and Newcastle agreed terms over his transfer with an outlay of €70m + add-ons sufficient to bring the 28 year old in.
