**Brighton and Hove Albion** have confirmed that striker **Danny Welbeck** has left the club to join **Chelsea**.
The veteran forward signed for the Seagulls back in the summer of 2020 from Watford, and across six seasons, went on to score 51 goals in 201 games. A total that saw him become Brighton’s leading goalscorer in top-flight history.
His goals also helped Brighton qualify for Europe twice, where they made it into the UEFA Europa League in 2023, though his contribution last season was very influential, scoring 13 of Brighton’s 52 Premier League goals, a total of 25%, as they qualified for the UEFA Europa Conference League.
