Arsenal began their pre-season preparations with a 3-0 win over MK Dons in a behind-closed-doors match at their training ground last Saturday.
Reiss Nelson, Ethan Nwaneri and Ceadach O’Neill were on target. New £34m summer signing Christos Tzolis played and provided the assist for Nwaneri’s goal.

Several Arsenal players are still on holiday after playing at the World Cup.
Spain’s World Cup-winning trio **David Raya**, **Martin Zubimendi** and **Mikel Merino** are absent.
**Declan Rice**, **Bukayo Saka**, **Noni Madueke** and **Eberechi Eze** are still resting following England’s campaign.
**Martin Odegaard** is still not with Arsenal’s squad after reaching the quarter-final with Norway.
**William Saliba** played for France with a back injury [and Arsenal confirmed last week that the centre-back is now out for an ‘extended period’](https://metro.co.uk/2026/07/22/arsenal-issue-william-saliba-injury-update-reveal-decision-surgery-29202068/), so he won’t be featuring at all during pre-season.
