It is fair to say that John Terry is pretty pleased with Chelsea’s decision to sign Danny Welbeck!
Chelsea have just announced Welbeck’s arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion, with many Blues fans, like Terry, on board with the signing.
Welbeck is not exactly a game-changer who is going to transform Xabi Alonso’s side into title challengers.
However, what he is going to do is add experience to the Club World Cup holders. And what he will not do any longer is score against us!

In a post on his official Instagram account, Terry was quick to joke about Welbeck’s tendency to find the back of the net against Chelsea.
In his Instagram story, the Chelsea legend posted: “Great signing this! And at least he won’t score against us anymore.”

Welbeck has a pretty good recent record against Chelsea, scoring in Brighton’s two victories over the Blues last season.
Following Welbeck’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, there will be more than one exit in the centre-forward department. Frank Lampard’s Coventry City are interested in Marc Guiu, who is almost certain to leave west London this summer, while Alonso will get to assess Nicolas Jackson next week before making a decision on his future.
Liam Delap and Emmanuel Emegha leaving has not been ruled out either.
