Liverpool's transfer window has been somewhat subdued compared to what many supporters had anticipated. However, it looks set to spring into action as talks with Paris Saint-Germain over long-standing target Bradley Barcola press ahead.
Pre-season has kicked off with victories over Sunderland and Wrexham. The next fixture on their United States tour sees them face Leeds United at Chicago's Soldier Field on Sunday.
New arrivals Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz are yet to feature. The former is edging closer to making his Reds bow after recovering from a shoulder injury, while Spain World Cup winner Munoz is nearing the end of his post-tournament rest period.
It is the pursuit of Barcola that continues to dominate the headlines, with developments elsewhere in the transfer market bolstering Liverpool's negotiating position. Here is a summary of the very latest transfer news...
Barcola replacements found
PSG are closing in on two wide players in a clear indication they are bracing themselves for life without Barcola. They have reportedly entered into discussions with Ajax regarding a £51million deal for Mika Godts.
Meanwhile, the Champions League holders are on the brink of securing Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco for approximately £43m. With Desire Doue, Ibrahim Maye and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia already on the books, the wide positions look set to become increasingly congested.

Something has to give, and that 'something' is Barcola. Liverpool have no desire to meet PSG's £145m asking price, but discussions are ongoing and the imminent arrivals of Godts and Akliouche at PSG should bolster their negotiating position.
The French champions still stand to generate a substantial profit on a player who joined from Lyon for less than £40m three years ago.
New Jones offer
Inter Milan are prepared to increase their bid for midfielder Curtis Jones. The Serie A champions have already secured John Stones' signature this summer and are eager to add another England international, having previously seen an opening offer of around £21m turned down.

As reported by the ECHO, Inter are readying a £30m bid, although that remains below the Reds' £35m asking price for the 25-year-old, who has 12 months remaining on his contract.
Intermediaries acting on behalf of Inter have now made fresh contact with Liverpool and have communicated the club's readiness to improve their offer. Jones has made 228 appearances since making his debut in January 2019 but has found consistent first-team opportunities hard to come by.
