Chelsea Unveil their New Signing Danny Welbeck
Danny Welbeck has given his first interview as a Chelsea player following his arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion.
On Saturday, Chelsea confirmed the signing of Welbeck, who has joined Xabi Alonso’s side on a two-year contract.
In his first interview at Cobham, the striker has said all the right stuff, or at least everything the club want to hear.

Danny Welbeck ready to offer Chelsea’s young players some much-needed support
Turning 36 in November, Chelsea have clearly brought Welbeck in to add experience to their squad.
There are a lot of young Chelsea players in the dressing room who need a mentor, and Welbeck has made it clear that he is ready to be just that.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official club website after his transfer was announced, the former Brighton man said: “Obviously, with age comes experience, and I’ve got invaluable experience. I’ve been around the Premier League for a long, long time and I’ve been at some big clubs. With everything that I’ve experienced in my time as a Premier League footballer, I’ve learned so much.
“It’s given me such a good outlook about what I can do to help, not just myself, but others around me as well. I’ve seen a lot, so I’ve always got a lot of advice for some of the younger players who want to take it on board, and it’s amazing to be in this position.”
The Blues’ plans for Emmanuel Emegha are not quite clear, but he is someone who would really benefit from some mentorship from Welbeck, for example.
Emegha is a young striker who has never played in the Premier League before. Being a centre-forward himself with 400 Premier League appearances to his name, Welbeck could teach his new teammate a lot about English football and the No.9 position.

Nicolas Jackson could learn a lot from Danny Welbeck
Nicolas Jackson is no novice anymore. He has played for both Chelsea and Bayern Munich now, two of the biggest clubs in the world, and is in his mid-20s.
However, if the Senegal international remains at Stamford Bridge, he is another player who could learn a lot from Welbeck despite not being a youngster.
Like Welbeck, Jackson has also received a lot of criticism for his finishing and perhaps not being clinical enough while playing for a top club. On some occasions, he has not taken it well and really bitten back at his critics.
In contrast, Welbeck often tried to ignore the outside noise and memes on social media and just worked on his game. As the ex-Arsenal and Manchester United star has matured, his finishing has definitely improved and he has become more prolific.
The reality is there may not be enough room for both Welbeck and Jackson in Alonso’s squad. But a year working alongside Welbeck could do a lot of good for Jackson.
