Mikel Arteta can splash the cash again this summer
As Mikel Arteta's side took to the pitch against Girona in a pre-season friendly on Saturday evening, it was the dealings taking place behind the scenes that caught fans' attention.
The Gunners have positioned themselves as leading contenders for several marquee signings, with Real Madrid sensation Vinicius Jr taking centre stage. However, Arsenal's transfer so far have been fairly understated.
Piero Hincapie joined permanently for £34.5m, third-choice keeper Illan Meslier on a free, and £34m Leandro Trossard replacement Christos Tzolis. Daily Star Sport examines the latest developments from the Emirates Stadium.

Andrea Berta is believed to have been tracking the 26-year-old winger's contractual circumstances for quite some time before making his approach, reports Football London.
Arsenal are now reportedly considering whether to employ a similar strategy in their chase for another attacker - Barcelona's Ferran Torres - who is also poised to become a free agent next summer.
Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo suggests the Gunners have made initial contact regarding the Spain international. Barcelona are eager to secure Torres to a new deal, with his deal set to run out in June next year.

Arsenal are reportedly targeting three additional acquisitions this summer. The Athletic disclosed on Saturday that Vinicius Jr tops Arteta's priority list for strengthening the forward line.
Personal terms between the Brazilian and Arsenal are anticipated to be agreed should Real Madrid fail to meet his wage expectations and the attacker chooses not to renew his contract.
