Victor Munoz will cut his summer break short and report for pre-season early next week, with Andoni Iraola welcoming the decision.
Despite not playing at the World Cup this summer, Spain’s World Cup triumph meant Munoz was not expected to report for pre-season until around August 10.
With the right to at least three weeks off over the summer, he would have had less than two weeks to settle in before the start of the Premier League season.
But Iraola revealed to the club’s official website that the 23-year-old will return earlier, reporting to the AXA Training Centre after the conclusion of the US tour.
“Yes, he comes next week,” Iraola said.

“We spoke to him, and he wanted also to come a little bit earlier than the three weeks that they have the right to have, because obviously he is coming to a new club, he will need some time to adapt, to meet his teammates.
“We will have him next week as soon as we arrive there, basically. It’s good news.”
It is a welcome boost for Iraola and his coaches as they look to integrate senior players back into the squad after playing the majority of pre-season so far with academy players.
Munoz’s lack of minutes with Spain during the World Cup came as a result of injury woes, but after being deemed fit before the final, the hope is he can slot straight into training.
When will Alisson and Alexis Mac Allister report for pre-season?
Alisson has been in Brazil this week, with the goalkeeper handed an extended break, but he will report alongside Munoz at the AXA in the coming week.
“Alisson will be there from the first day,” Iraola confirmed. “He was arriving at AXA a little bit later than Cody and Virgil.
“But he will be [there] since the first day that we arrive and will start training there in Liverpool.”
As for Mac Allister, he will be handed his full three-week break and report back after Monaco’s visit to Anfield on August 9.

“Alexis will have, I think, until the Monaco game,” the head coach said. “I think deserved holidays for him; long season, long World Cup, played until the final, has played a lot of minutes.
“I hope he comes fully recovered and he enjoys also the break that he definitely has earned.”
Liverpool’s full squad will be fully reunited once Mac Allister reports back, but Iraola will hope he is also bolstered by new additions between now and then.
