Arsenal supporters have been reacting to reports that midfielder Christian Norgaard is closing in on a £7 million move to Everton, with many taking to social media to thank the Dane for his contribution and wish him every success should the transfer be completed.
While neither club has officially confirmed the deal, reports suggest Everton have agreed a fee for the experienced midfielder, bringing what would be a brief spell in north London to an end. The rumours have prompted an outpouring of appreciation from Gunners fans, many of whom believe Norgaard has been the consummate professional during his time at the Emirates.
Although he was never viewed as one of ARSENAL‘s marquee signings, supporters have praised the 31-year-old’s attitude, leadership and willingness to contribute whenever called upon by Mikel Arteta.
Many fans believe a move to Everton would offer Norgaard the opportunity for more regular first-team football, with Arsenal’s midfield becoming increasingly competitive. One supporter wrote on X: “If the Norgaard news is true, nothing but respect. Came in, worked hard every day and never complained. Hope he smashes it at Everton.”
Another posted: “Professional from start to finish. Every squad needs players with his mentality. Good luck, Christian, if this is the end.”
Others highlighted the importance of experienced players behind the scenes, even if they were not guaranteed a starting place every week. One fan commented: “People underestimate players like Norgaard. He gave everything whenever he wore the shirt and helped raise standards in training. Wish him all the best.”
Another supporter added: “£7 million seems fair for everyone. Arsenal get a decent fee and Norgaard gets the chance to play every week. Win-win.”
Several fans also reflected on the role the midfielder played in helping maintain competition within Arteta’s squad throughout the campaign, One post read: “He understood his role perfectly. No drama, no complaints, just hard work. You can’t ask for much more from a squad player.”
Another wrote: “Sad to see him leave already, but I completely understand it. Thanks for everything and good luck at Everton.”
Not every supporter was entirely convinced Arsenal should cash in, however. A minority argued that Norgaard’s experience and composure could still prove valuable over the course of a demanding season.
One fan posted: “I’d probably keep him for another year. Experience wins you points over a long campaign.”
Another added: “Reliable players are underrated. Hopefully Arsenal have another midfielder lined up before letting him go.”
Even so, the overwhelming tone across social media has been one of gratitude rather than disappointment. Many supporters feel Norgaard handled himself with professionalism throughout his spell at ARSENAL and deserves the opportunity to become a regular starter elsewhere.
One particularly popular message summed up the mood among many Gunners supporters: “Football moves quickly, but players who give everything for the badge deserve respect. If Christian Norgaard is leaving, thank you and all the very best for the future.”
Whether the reported move to Everton is finalised in the coming days remains to be seen, but Arsenal fans have already made one thing clear: Norgaard leaves with their appreciation and best wishes for the next chapter of his career.
