Liverpool goalkeeper Armin Pecsi made his competitive debut for TSV Hartberg in testing circumstances, with his side conceding 36 shots in a 1-0 defeat.
Pecsi acted as fourth-choice goalkeeper in his first season at Liverpool, adjusting to life on Merseyside before the club lined up a temporary move for experience.
He will spend the campaign in the Austrian Bundesliga, which kicked off for Hartberg on Saturday against Salzburg.
The 21-year-old was named in the starting lineup and hardly had a chance to watch the ball go in the opposition half, with his side conceding 55 touches in their box and 36 shots in total.
As per FotMob, Pecsi saved six of their seven shots on target, and only conceded the deciding goal in the 89th minute after continuous pressure from Salzburg.
There was little the Reds stopper could do to prevent Karim Konate’s header from finding the net, but it ended the impressive patrol of his goal on debut.
FotMob rated Pecsi’s performance 7.4 out of 10, the highest-rated player in his side after Salzburg’s expected goal tally of 4.11 produced just one goal.
Hartberg’s official website viewed the match as a “true test” for Pecsi, one which he “passed with flying colours.”

While Pecsi may have hoped for a better result on debut, the nature of Salzburg’s unrelenting pressure will have given him confidence as he looks to keep the title of Hartberg’s No. 1.
A first-team environment is not new for the 21-year-old, having played 70 senior games for Puskas Akademia and on loan with Csakvar.
But after spending last season playing for Liverpool’s academy and adapting to a new country, matches, like this one, offer the stage the club will have wanted to aid his development.
Hartberg play their first home league game on Saturday against Sturm Graz, last season’s runners-up.
