**A Liverpool decision has reportedly both stalled Curtis Jones’ transfer plans and Nottingham Forest’s designs on a move to sign Davide Frattesi.**
Jones made headlines this week for an argument with Dominik Szoboszlai and Kostas Tsimikas in the wake of Liverpool’s 1-0 pre-season win over Wrexham.
While the exact reason for the argument remains subject to speculation, although there are some good theories surrounding the captain’s armband, it seems likelier that Jones’ spiky temper has more to do with a potentially imminent move to Inter Milan.
That said, plenty of work remains to be done for Jones to get his move.
Report claims Liverpool U-turn blocked Jones from making loan move to Inter and Frattesi’s move to Forest

According to a report from Italian outlet [Sport Mediaset](https://www.sportmediaset.mediaset.it/mercato/inter-mercato-curtis-jones-sfumato-frattesi-nottingham_108592697-202602k.shtml), Liverpool made a loan proposal to Inter Milan which would have allowed Jones to make a temporary move to Serie A and solve Inter’s midfield problems.
However, Liverpool reportedly reversed their decision, which not only blocked Jones and Inter from achieving their respective desires but it has also blocked Nottingham Forest from completing their own transfer.
Forest reportedly need Jones to move to Inter to sign Davide Frattesi this summer. An agreement with Jones had reportedly been reached but Liverpool reversed their own loan proposal over concerns of a thinning squad and issues surrounding Jones’ contract, expiring in 2027.
Consequently, Forest and Frattesi are no longer able to find an arrangement under the current circumstances.

While it’s inarguable that Liverpool have the right to not release a player they want to keep, it’s another thing entirely to make a proposal and then walk it back.
Liverpool’s transfer business this summer has been something of a mess.
Sporting director Richard Hughes has hardly had the same success he did last summer when he brought Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike to Anfield.
With his contract up at the end of the year, it might not come as a surprise to see him go with so many reports emerging of poorly handled business from the Reds.
