Arsenal £531m XI features £80m star and £145m winger
Arsenal are already Premier League champions, but Mikel Arteta has made clear that further reinforcements could arrive before the transfer window closes.
If Arsenal land several of their remaining targets, their strongest XI could contain more than £500million worth of talent.
Arteta confirmed on Sunday that Arsenal expect more business despite already adding Christos Tzolis, Illan Meslier and making Piero Hincapie’s move permanent.
Central midfield, left wing and centre-back remain the obvious areas where the squad could still change.

Arsenal £531m XI could contain three new arrivals
GK: David Raya – £30m
Raya remains firmly established as Arsenal’s number one after another excellent season.
RB: Jurrien Timber – £38m
Timber should retain his place on the right when fully fit, offering Arteta the ability to defend narrowly or move into midfield.
CB: Gabriel Magalhaes – £27m
William Saliba’s back injury makes Gabriel even more important during the opening months of Arsenal’s title defence.
CB: Jacobo Ramon – £34m
Como defender Ramon is among the centre-backs being considered as Arsenal assess cover for Saliba.
The 21-year-old remains one option rather than an advanced transfer, with Arsenal looking at several defensive profiles.
LB: Riccardo Calafiori – £42m
Calafiori should begin as first choice on the left, although Myles Lewis-Skelly provides serious competition.
CM: Declan Rice – £100m
Rice remains one of the first names in Arteta’s strongest side despite returning from the World Cup with a significant workload.
CM: Bruno Guimaraes – around £80m
This is the deal currently closest to transforming Arsenal’s XI.
ReadArsenal reported on Sunday that a medical has been pencilled in for Guimaraes, with the latest package reported at £70m plus £10m in add-ons.
Pairing Guimaraes with Rice would give Arsenal two elite Premier League midfielders capable of winning duels, carrying possession and controlling games.
AM: Martin Odegaard – £30m
Odegaard faces increased competition from Eberechi Eze and Mikel Merino, but the club captain remains capable of controlling Arsenal’s attacking rhythm.
Bradley Barcola could complete Arsenal attack
RW: Bukayo Saka – academy
No transfer fee required for arguably the most valuable player in the entire XI.
CF: Viktor Gyokeres – £55m
Gyokeres scored 21 times during Arsenal’s title-winning campaign and Arteta has now publicly dismissed speculation that the striker could leave.
ReadArsenal reported after the 4-1 win over Girona that Arteta expects Gyokeres to stay.
LW: Bradley Barcola – £100m-plus
This remains the most speculative position.
Arsenal admire Barcola, but Liverpool are currently further ahead and PSG’s reported valuation is closer to £145m than £100m.
ReadArsenal reported on Sunday that Emmanuel Frimpong has urged Arsenal to hijack Liverpool’s move for Barcola.
Vinicius Junior remains an even more ambitious alternative. Arsenal are exploring that possibility, although no agreement exists with Real Madrid.
Possible XI: Raya; Timber, Ramon, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Guimaraes; Saka, Odegaard, Barcola; Gyokeres.
The exact £531m figure depends on how the potential deals are valued.
What matters more is the level of the XI.
Guimaraes would raise Arsenal’s midfield ceiling immediately, while another elite left winger could remove one of the few obvious weaknesses in Arteta’s title-winning team.
Arsenal do not need another rebuild.
Two or three major additions could turn an already excellent starting XI into one capable of becoming even stronger.
