Liverpool's transfer business could spark into life this week. The countdown is on with Andoni Iraola's side facing Newcastle in their opening game of the Premier League season on August 23.
So far, Victor Munoz is the club's only acquisition after signing for £34.5 million from Spanish side Osasuna. Fans had expected more so far, it's fair to say.
Losing the likes of Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate means Liverpool have significant work to do to build a squad capable of challenging across four fronts this season. However, news comes thick and fast in transfer season, and we take a look at five deals, incomings and outgoings, the Reds could pull off this week.
Bradley Barcola
It's the big one. The Reds have been in preliminary talks with Barcola's representatives in recent weeks as they look to get a deal over the line for the French international.
The left winger, who can also play on the opposite flank, is believed to be valued at around £140million by the European champions. Liverpool, however, are looking to strike a deal with the Parisians to lower the fee.

While the deal hasn't looked imminent up until now, PSG's pursuit of Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche and Ajax winger Mika Godts could expedite it, giving the Reds the green light to complete a deal.
Luis Enrique's side are believed to want replacements on board before sanctioning Barcola's exit, and the expected double capture could grease the wheels for Barcola to become a Liverpool player soon.
Curtis Jones
Liverpool midfielder Jones could be on his way out of the club. Inter Milan have renewed their interest and contacted Liverpool over a £30m deal.
That number still falls short of Liverpool's £35m valuation. Jones has a year left on his contract and has been a target for the Serie A giants since the turn of the year.

Intermediaries working on behalf of Inter have contacted Liverpool again and have informed them of the Italian side’s willingness to increase their bid. Jones has made 228 appearances since his debut in January 2019, but has been seeking further first-team opportunities.
Federico Chiesa
Talk of an Anfield exit for Federico Chiesa has gone quiet in recent weeks. However, rumours that the Italian forward could leave have now resurfaced.
FootMercato has reported that Atletico Madrid are interested in signing the 28-year-old. Chiesa joined Liverpool in the summer of 2024 and has scored five goals in 50 appearances.

Fikayo Tomori
Italian outlet Tutto Juve claims that Liverpool have entered into preliminary discussions with AC Milan regarding a potential deal for former Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori. The report states that "discussions are currently still in the early stages and negotiations are not yet advanced."

Tomori is contracted until 2027. The centre-back came through the academy at Stamford Bridge before making the move to Milan five years ago.

Iraola's requirement for a new centre-back has been accelerated following confirmation that Joe Gomez will be sidelined at the start of the season through injury. New arrival Jeremy Jacquet is also yet to feature for the Reds owing to a minor injury.
Defenders Ibrahima Konate and Andrew Robertson have both departed the club this summer, while young Italian centre-back Giovanni Leoni and right-back Conor Bradley are yet to return to pre-season training following their respective injuries.
Harvey Elliott
Elliott has been linked with a move away from the Reds all summer. The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Aston Villa but only featured nine times.
He has been linked with RB Leipzig in Germany and Leeds United. The Liverpool midfielder is hoping the appointment of Iraola could breathe fresh life into his career on Merseyside.

He has started pre-season games under Iraola in the United States and says he is enjoying working for the former Bournemouth boss.
However, he admitted that while his focus is on the upcoming season, he "just needs to see what happens," as Liverpool could look to move Elliott on to free up funds to spend elsewhere.
