Florian Wirtz is looking forward to working with Jurgen Klopp after the former Liverpool boss was named as Germany’s new head coach. Klopp was officially revealed as Germany's boss last month following Julian Nagelsmann's resignation after his side's World Cup exit to Paraguay on penalties.
Kop icon Klopp had been working as head of global soccer for Red Bull, but had a gentlemen's agreement with the organisation that would allow him to leave if he intended to become Germany's head coach. And when asked about the appointment, Wirtz said: “It’s very, very cool that he’s there now.
“I’ve not spoken to him yet but a lot of people here at the club told me about him, that he is a fantastic guy. All of Liverpool loves him. So, I’m very excited to meet him in a few months.”

Klopp, who stepped down as Liverpool manager in the summer of 2024, after almost nine years in charge, has been replaced at Red Bull by Roger Schmidt.
