As he stood waving to supporters at Hill Dickinson Stadium after Everton's final home game of last season, many fans will have questioned whether that would be the last time they would see Jack Grealish.

The England international looked happy, relaxed, as he smiled and waved to the fans, joined by his girlfriend and daughter on a pitch where he hadn't stepped for four months after undergoing foot surgery. His last Everton appearance was, and remains, the 1-0 win at his boyhood club, Aston Villa, on January 18.

Before injury ended his campaign, it felt like Grealish was getting back to something like the footballer he had been, before the 2024-25 season at Manchester City appeared to suck the joy out of his football. In an Everton shirt, he was full of verve, cheek and invention, standing out once more.

And it seems that those four months in an Everton shirt, where he was fit and flying, are well remembered by supporters. Because 83 PER CENT of you reckon the club should re-sign Grealish this summer and bring him back to Merseyside.

Over 3300 of you have had your say in our ECHO poll on Everton doing what they did 12 months ago and over four-fifths of you want the talismanic winger back in a blue shirt this term.

There is a lot of speculation swirling around Grealish's future once more after he was left out of Manchester City's pre-season tour, despite Pep Guardiola's exit and the return to the Etihad of Enzo Maresca in the top job. And the question remains over where he will be plying his trade this season.

But Everton fans have made their feelings known. And they want Grealish back at Hill Dickinson.
