Chelsea reject a third bid from Como for their centre-back Trevoh Chalobah ahead of next season
Chelsea have made up their mind on the transfer of Trevoh Chalobah. The West London club have rejected another transfer bid from Italian club Como.
The Blues reject third bid from Como for Chalobah
It seems that the Blues don’t want to let Chalobah go for the 2026-27 season. As reported by talkSPORT, they have rejected a third bid from Italian club Como for their centre-back. They want a deal worth their price tag of £35 million. None of the deals proposed by Como have managed to fulfill this demand.
Apart from Como, clubs like Inter Milan, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund have also expressed their interest in the 27-year-old English defender. Chalobah has been part of Chelsea since 2018. However, the defender played for clubs like Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town, Lorient, and Crystal Palace between 2018 and 2025 under various loan spells.
Chalobah’s stats for the 2025-26 season, as per FOTMOB:
Competitions Matches Duels Won Tackles Interceptions
Premier League 34 134 35 35
FA Cup 1 5 1 1
UEFA Champions League 8 17 1 7
FIFA Club World Cup 5 10 2 5
Will Chelsea retain Chalobah for the next season?
Chelsea aren’t too keen on retaining Chalobah for the next season. However, they haven’t officially confirmed his availability for a transfer either. The English defender showed his skills at the FIFA Club World Cup final, where Chelsea faced Paris Saint-Germain. Not only did the Blues avenge their Champions League loss, but they also won their second Club World Cup title since the 2021 edition. Chalobah alongside Levi Colwill played a crucial role in the same. Although the Blues didn’t perform well at the Premier League last year, Chalobah did his best to keep them out of danger. Chelsea finished 10th overall in the League table.

What’s next for Trevoh Chalobah?
Chalobah is currently working on his fitness ahead of the next **football**season. He got an ankle injury in March 2026 during the Champions League clash against PSG. He was forced to sit out for six weeks. However, he didn’t lose hope, and began preparing for the World Cup.
Although he wasn’t initially included in the The Three Lions squad, Chalobah was called up as a substitute for the injured player Tino Livramento. He eventually made his World Cup debut as a substitute in the third place playoff against France. England won the match 6-4, marking their best performance since the 1966 edition. In 1966, England won their first and only FIFA World Cup till date. They defeated West Germany 4-2 in the final.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are undergoing a tactical evolution for next year. Under new manager Xabi Alonso, the team aim to get back to winning ways. The team had a roller-coaster ride last year, and they want some stability now. They could take some inspiration from the Arsenal model. The Gunners were almost on the same path for the past few years as the Blues. However, manager Mikel Arteta inspired the team to a dream run last year. They also won back the Premier League title after 22 years. If Chelsea want to do the same, they can start with retaining Chalobah for the next season.
Apart from the fitness, Chalobah also needs to work on his disciplinary concerns. He was served a red card in a Premier League match last year. That’s not a good sign for someone who wants to make it big in English football. He needs to keep his cool if he wants to play for the Blues again next year.
