Former Chelsea defender William Gallas thinks Cole Palmer “will definitely go to Manchester United” due to the fact that he is a fan of the Red Devils.
There has been plenty of speculation that the England international wants to return to Manchester, and asked about the attacking midfielder’s future, Gallas said that a transfer may well happen if he rediscovers the form he showed in his first season with the Blues:
“I don’t think Cole Palmer will go right now. I don’t think it’s time to go right now. He will definitely go to Manchester United in the future if he’s a big fan, if he’s got a dream to play for Man United, he will definitely go there, but right now I don’t think so.”
“I think he needs to have one more big season as he did two years ago, before he got his injury problem, then he might move.”
Palmer has admitted he was a “United fan” growing up
When asked bytalkSPORT a couple of years ago about who he used to emulate in the school playground, the Chelsea star replied that he wanted to be Wayne Rooney. Explaining why, he said:

“I was a United fan [when I was] younger and just used to watch him all the time.”
Palmer ended up joining the academy of United’s fiercest rivals, Manchester City, prior to his switch to Stamford Bridge in 2023.
Chelsea deem Palmer ‘untouchable’
It is fair to say that the Blues are very willing sellers. It is part of their playing trading model, which has been in place since Clearlake Capital and Todd Boehly took over the club four years ago.
However, there are believed to be seven players who are described as “untouchables” by insiders. Palmer is among them, along with Reece James, Moises Caicedo, Levi Colwill, Estevao, Joao Pedro, and Josh Acheampong.
