Mykhailo Mudryk is back in Chelsea training again, and supporters are delighted to see the Ukrainian winger wearing Blue again. But Mudryk could be on his way, as quickly as he rejoined.
It is three and a half years since Mudryk joined Chelsea for an initial £62m, plus north of £25m more in add-ons. But the winger has not played since his ban was made official back in November 2024.
Now, finally, Mudryk is available again after almost two years without kicking a ball in anger. It is a huge boost for Chelsea, with Mudryk back and still boasting as many as five years on his Chelsea contract.
But reports have emerged suggesting Mudryk is a target for Premier League clubs and teams in the European sphere. Chelsea are planning to assess Mudryk before making a decision on the winger.
Mykhailo Mudryk sets Chelsea a deadline over his future
Among the clubs supposedly interested is Chelsea legend Frank Lampard at Coventry. Giving the talented Mudryk game time in the Premier League and allowing him to get sharp again certainly makes sense.

Especially with Chelsea adding Geovany Quenda and Morgan Rogers to their ranks this summer, and the return from injury of Estevao. Mudryk could depart then, and it appears Mudryk has set a deadline.
A bold move from the wide man, given the circumstances. Ben Jacobs says Mudryk has asked Chelsea to make a decision by the middle of August: “Mykhailo Mudryk is drawing interest from several clubs.
“Mudryk will finish Chelsea’s pre-season tour in Asia and then assess next steps. Player hoping for clarity by mid-August on whether he’s staying with the first team, being loaned or even sold,” Jacobs added.

“Coventry are one of the clubs to have shown an interest, but not the only suitor. Chelsea want to assess Mudryk’s form/fitness first and then will work with the player to find the best solution for all parties.”
Mudryk should be sent on loan this summer
Chelsea already have five options on the flanks, and lack European football. Jamie Gittens is back in form after a brilliant pre-season, while Rogers is expected to start on the left flank when the season starts.

On the right, Chelsea have three options – Quenda, Estevao and Pedro Neto. Even if Neto departs, the Blues have four options, and in a season without Europe, that is enough for the Blues moving forward.
Mudryk would be wise to show Alonso what he can do, to show that he still has the talent Chelsea could end up paying nearly £90m for, and then going on loan in an effort to prove himself to Alonso further.
