Cole Palmer has been backed to move to Manchester United - once he has one more good season for Chelsea. Palmer has impressed for the Blues since joining from Manchester City in a deal worth £42.5m in 2023.
But despite spending 13 years at the Etihad, Palmer is a boyhood United fan. And it was claimed earlier this year that the Red Devils were eyeing a deal for the England international as he was homesick.
Palmer later claimed there was no truth to the links with United or that he is homesick in the capital. However, that hasn't stopped former Chelsea defender William Gallas from predicting that the 24-year-old will move to Old Trafford.
“I don’t think Cole Palmer will go right now. I don’t think it’s time to go right now,” the former France international told iPredicta.
“He will definitely go to Manchester United in the future if he’s a big fan, if he’s got a dream to play for Man United, he will definitely go there, but right now I don’t think so.
“I think he needs to have one more big season as he did two years ago, before he got his injury problem, then he might move.”
The claim from Gallas came after United new boy Andrey Santos revealed he received a message from Palmer upon finalising his move to Old Trafford.
The Brazilian has signed a five-year contract, with United paying an initial £48 million fee, with £2 million in add-ons to Chelsea.

Santos was keen to move on from Stamford Bridge as he searched for more regular game time and he revealed: "I'm so excited to be here.
“So pleased. I got a message from Cole [Palmer], he sent a message because he was born here [Manchester], so he knows everything here.
“He said all the best for you, for your career, you deserve this, a lot of things. So I'm so excited to be here in Manchester with my new teammates."
