Bruno Guimaraes has shared a fresh update on social media after initially failing to report for pre‑season following his World Cup break and amid Arsenal's interest. football.london understands Arsenal have already seen an opening offer rejected for the midfielder.
Newcastle are thought to want around £80million for the 28‑year‑old, whose contract runs until June 2028. Guimaraes has been a priority target for Arsenal as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of their Premier League title defence this season.
Amidst all the noise, Guimaraes did not report for pre‑season at Newcastle's La Manga base on Sunday. The club, however, were relaxed about the situation and expected him to arrive on Monday.
He has now confirmed his arrival by posting an Instagram photo from the training camp, accompanied by a Spain flag emoji.

This comes after the former Lyon star delayed linking up with Newcastle's squad, who flew to La Manga on Friday for their pre‑season preparations. The central midfielder was granted a three‑week break after representing Brazil at the World Cup - a campaign that ended with a last‑16 defeat to Norway for the Selecao.
According to our colleagues at Chronicle Live, Guimaraes boarded a commercial flight from South America to Spain before being chauffeured to the plush Grand Hyatt Golf and Spa resort. He now appears ready to get to work with the Magpies ahead of the 2026/27 season under new boss Matthias Jaissle.
Arsenal are understood to have lodged a £75m bid for the midfielder, but Newcastle rejected it instantly. The Magpies are thought to be holding out for more than £80m for a player who has two years left on his contract, plus an option for a further year.
However, the player is still thought to want the move, and a deal remains likely if Arsenal meet Newcastle's asking price. The Magpies, who have already banked close to £175m from the summer sales of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, are keen to keep hold of their captain, whose future has been the subject of intense speculation.
Unlike Alexander Isak, who went on strike last summer, Guimaraes would be unwilling to force an exit. Arsenal had floated a £45m verbal offer at the start of the window, but Newcastle shut it down immediately.
Following Saturday's pre‑season win over Girona, Mikel Arteta insisted Arsenal will not 'sit still' while rivals prepare to dethrone them as Premier League champions. The Gunners boss said: "We are really active, trying to improve and evolve the team. That’s clear.
"We expect to have movements in the next three weeks, obviously, because we want to get better like anybody else. You can just see the transfer market and what our opponents are doing. We won’t sit still. We are very ambitious in where we want to go."
On why Arsenal feel the need to upgrade, Arteta added: "Because the margins are very small and if you want to get better when the level is going to increase, we need to increase the competition internally. We need to make sure we identify the things we don’t have in the team to have bigger margins.
"That’s the way we have to think. I think we have even more responsibility and ambition than before. We know what is ahead. We know the qualities and the capacity that we have to compete with any other teams. We need to prove that we belong at this level now."
