Tottenham want to add quality to their forward line before the September 1 transfer deadline.
Tottenham Hotspur hold a long-standing and genuine interest in Manchester City winger Savinho. The 22-year-old remains one of several dynamic attacking options under serious consideration in N17, with the Spurs bosses aiming to bring in attacking reinforcements in the final weeks of the summer transfer window.
Roberto De Zerbi has made reshaping Tottenham’s attack a clear priority as he prepares for his first full season in charge. He favours fast, fluid and direct wide players capable of taking on defenders in 1v1 scenarios and creating chances in the final third. Savinho, in that regard, fits the bill perfectly, which is why Tottenham are pushing hard to bring him to North London.
Spurs have been in negotiations with Manchester City for well over a month now, but they are yet to find a breakthrough in a deal. However, Savinho isn’t the only Manchester City player of interest to the Lilywhites.
Journalist reveals Tottenham boss De Zerbi’s admiration of Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush
Recent reports have linked Tottenham with Man City forward Omar Marmoush. The 27-year-old did not enjoy regular game time last season and is looking to leave the Sky Blues this summer. He does not want to spend the forthcoming campaign as Erling Haaland’s understudy again and hopes to find a club that would guarantee him minutes to showcase his talent consistently.
Now, reputable Football London journalist Alasdair Gold has revealed that De Zerbi “loves” Omar Marmoush. The Tottenham boss has the Egyptian international on his shortlist to bolster the forward line.
“Moersen spent years within the City Football Group so his relationship there will be utilised as Spurs look to sign winger Savinho and potentially explore a move for another player De Zerbi loves in Omar Marmoush,” Alasdair Gold said.
“The Egyptian is one of those on the Italian’s wishlist along with Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo and others who can improve the attack. Both Marmoush and Gakpo can play up front or out wide, to give De Zerbi more options, and either would prove to be an effective signing alongside Savinho.”
Marmoush would be an excellent signing for Spurs
Marmoush is highly rated across Europe, and there is no doubt that he could prove to be a top-quality acquisition for Tottenham. The Lilywhites need more cutting-edge in the final third, and the Man City man will help them improve going forward. He can help create opportunities for his teammates and find the back of the net as well.
In terms of pure footballing ability, there is no denying that the Egyptian possesses immense talent and has the potential to become a leading attacker for any team. At 27, the former Eintracht Frankfurt star is entering the prime years of his career, and if nurtured properly, he could prove to be a genuine difference-maker at White Hart Lane. However, De Zerbi will need to utilise him in the right role to get the very best out of him.
