LFC transfer talks"ongoing"with crucial breakthrough now very close

**Liverpool are set to see their first offer for Bradley Barcola rejected, a new claim suggests, as this summer saga continues to twist and turn.**

After moving on from the Yan Diomande pursuit, Liverpool turned their attention to Barcola, but between his involvement at the FIFA World Cup in North America with France and PSG’s extremely high £145m valuation, this is not a simple transfer to complete by any means.

For us fans, this is becoming a frustrating situation.

Beyond the Barcola saga, there isn’t much else to speak of as far as incoming signings are concerned. Victor Munoz will soon join his new teammates, while Jeremy Jacquet has already become acquainted with the Liverpool squad, however, that’s where the buck stops.

[The Barcola saga continues to drag on as Fabrizio Romano warned on Sunday evening](https://live4liverpool.com/fabrizio-romano-issues-detailed-bradley-barcola-to-liverpool-update/), and now a new claim suggests that Liverpool will see their first bid for Barcola rejected by PSG.

Liverpool will struggle to meet PSG’s new £120m demand for Barcola

------------------------------------------------------------------

While reports initially suggested that PSG had set a £145m asking price for Barcola, that stance has seemingly softened as they are now asking for £120m.

Yet, Football Insider journalist Pete O’Rourke suggests that this will be a “problem” for Liverpool.

O’Rourke reports: _“The problem is trying to agree a fee with PSG. Obviously PSG are holding out for big money, around £120 million for Barcola. Liverpool don’t really want to pay that much for him. They’re hoping they can get him for under £100million plus add-ons, with incentives, maybe, to bring that deal closer to PSG’s valuation._

_“Again it’s a deal that’s ongoing. There’s optimism, I think, on Liverpool’s side that the deal can be done, especially now if they’ve got the thumbs up from the player’s side that he would be keen to make that move to Anfield, and that’s big factor in it.”_

O’Rourke added in [Football Insider‘s latest update](https://www.footballinsider247.com/liverpool/this-is-how-psg-will-respond-to-liverpools-first-bradley-barcola-offer): _“Talks will be ongoing between Liverpool and PSG, and they’re preparing a first bid. More than likely, that will get turned down, but I’m sure there’ll be ongoing discussions between the two clubs to see if they can thrash out a deal._

_“And obviously if PSG bring in Magnes Akliouche from Monaco, then maybe that could free up space to allow them to let Barcola to move on.”_
