The Gunners remain in pursuit of a huge summer, looking to sign Brazilian stars Bruno Guimaraes and Vinicius Junior. Mikel Arteta is hoping to make a splash ahead of his side's Premier League title defence.
Newcastle United captain Guimaraes has arrived at the Magpies' Spanish training camp in La Manga, albeit later than everyone expected. Arsenal have had an official bid rejected, but it appears as if momentum is heading towards an £80million move.
Vinicius Jr was also back in action on Monday as he returned to Real Madrid training following his World Cup break. The winger has just one year remaining on his contract, with Los Blancos already said to have made a take-it-or-leave-it offer.
Arteta is said to be taking the lead in Arsenal's push to sign the 26-year-old. The Gunners want him to be a central figure of their side.
Elsewhere, Arsenal are primed for exits. Christian Norgaard is Everton-bound after the Toffees made a £7m bid, while Hamburg are keen to land Fabio Vieira.
