Everton are on the verge of signing Arsenal‘s Christian Nørgaard this summer.
That’s according to Bold, who claims Everton should complete this ‘surprise move’ soon.
David Moyes’ side have agreed a £7m [€8.2m] fee with the Premier League winners and have sorted out all the details of the operation.
What’s pending to join Everton
The two clubs are now sorting out the details of the agreement. This allows the 32-year-old to carry out medical tests and sign his contract with Everton.
Bold report the operation is at an advanced stage that only his medical examination with Everton is now pending.
The Dane should complete these tests this week and sign a multi-year contract with the Merseyside club. He and his family will then move to Liverpool.
Everton will be his third Premier League club, after the Gunners and Brentford.
Why Everton move surprising
Christian Nørgaard ended his six-year spell with the Bees to join Mikel Arteta’s side last summer.
The midfielder struggled for a prominent role at the Emirates, limiting to 1,040 minutes from 20 matches. This includes 101 minutes from seven Premier League matches.
He has earlier talked about his desire to finish his career in Denmark. Last October, the Dane reiterated he wants to return to Brøndby when he leaves the north London club.
At that time, he said: “Whether it will be two or three years at Arsenal has not been decided, but we will return to Denmark when the contract expires. I can guarantee that Arsenal will be my last club abroad. I still want to return to Brøndby when my contract with Arsenal expires.”
However, the former Brentford man is now on his way to Everton and only his medical is pending. Therefore, his Denmark return is now postponed for at least one more year.
