Jordan Henderson’s arrival has seen Chelsea secure the tenth senior signing of the summer. Five since Xabi Alonso joined, while five deals were pre-agreed before Alonso was announced as manager.
Transfers for Valentin Barco, Emmanuel Emegha, Denner, Dastan Satpaev and Geovany Quenda were done before the start of the summer. Since then, Chelsea have signed five more, including Henderson.

Morgan Rogers remains Chelsea’s record buy at £117m, while Marco Palestra and Maxence Lacroix have cost either side of the £50m mark. Danny Welbeck and Henderson have since moved to Stamford Bridge.
Plenty of business and Chelsea are unlikely to be done there, with Pep Chavarria’s move getting closer and closer. There has also been talk about a possible goalkeeper signing – but how much has been spent?
How much have Chelsea spent on their 10 new signings?
The five signings made before Alonso’s appointment
Geovany Quenda – While Quenda was announced at the same time as Essugo, the winger was scheduled to join this summer. Sporting Lisbon themselves confirmed a transfer fee of £44m for the special talent.

Denner – Fabrizio Romano confirmed the signing of the Brazilian teenager from Corinthians would cost Chelsea around £9m up front, and £3m more in add-ons. It takes the deal to a possible £12m in total.
Emmanuel Emegha – It is largely unclear how much BlueCo have effectively paid themselves to sign the Dutchman. But the former Strasbourg ace is believed to have cost £21m, according to FourFourTwo.
Valentin Barco – The World Cup finalist was announced on Sunday ahead of Henderson’s arrival, and is set to cost Chelsea a fee of £34m. It is seen as a bit of a bargain given his age and form over in France.
Dastan Satpayev – The Kazakhstan youngster is the cheapest of all five and yet has made the biggest impression during pre-season. Chelsea paid a bargain fee of £3.5m for Satpayev, which includes add-ons.

The five signings made since Alonso’s appointment
Maxence Lacroix – Chelsea have sorted their centre-back void out by paying £52m to Crystal Palace for French defender Lacroix. The World Cup star sparkled for Palace last season after joining from Wolfsburg.
Morgan Rogers – Chelsea’s club-record £117m deal is an outright payment up top, not including any add-ons. It sees the Blues sign Rogers in a lump sum, smashing their previous record for Moises Caicedo.
Marco Palestra – Palestra was the first signing of the Alonso era, costing the Blues in the region of £47m with add-ons. It is unclear if those add-ons are included in the £47m, or how much they are on top.
Danny Welbeck – Welbeck has joined the club for a nominal fee, claimed to be a bargain £5m. Hardly ever going to be more than that given his age, but it sees Chelsea add a ready-made striker for peanuts.

Jordan Henderson – Henderson has been added to Chelsea’s squad on a free transfer after the England star and Brentford mutually agreed to terminate his contract. It meant he was a free agent for a few days.
How much have Chelsea spent in total on the 10 signings?
Obviously, this does not include additions like Harrison Bettoni, who is going to be a part of the U21 side. Denner is too, though it is expected he may be allowed to go on loan with a view to senior football.

The five pre-arranged deals have cost Chelsea a total of £114.5m, almost as much as Rogers’ transfer in itself. A further £221m has been spent on the five additions made since Alonso was appointed manager.
That has taken spending to a whopping £335.5m. In terms of outgoings, Chelsea have raked in around £120m so far. Another £43m will come from Alejandro Garnacho’s loan, if his obligation is activated.
Trevoh Chalobah is completing a £31m move to Como, raking in more cash for the Blues as they go about balancing the books. Chelsea are confident they will raise as much as £300m in player sales.
