Moyes wanted Delap before his move to Chelsea and could now receive another opportunity to work with the striker if the Blues sanction his departure.
Chelsea still need an acceptable deal before allowing Delap to leave, but Crook’s latest update suggests his future is moving increasingly towards an exit rather than another season under Alonso.
