Arsenal are standing firm on their valuation of the midfielder with less than a month of the transfer window remaining

A potential transfer for Arsenal’s Fabio Vieira could drag on until the end of the transfer window, with a big gap in valuation between Hamburg and the Gunners. The midfielder spent the season on loan with the German club, who are keen to make the move permanent.
The loan agreement included a purchase option of €22 million (£18.9m), but Hamburg are not willing to pay that. German outlet Bild reports that Arsenal have instead offered a reduction of the price to €18 million (£15.4m).
However, that is still more that the Bundesliga club want to pay. Instead, they are looking more in the price range of €8-9 million (£6.9-£7.7m).
It’s added that the gap in valuation between the two clubs means that the transfer deal is likely to drag on until the last few days of the transfer window. Clubs have until Tuesday, September 1 to complete their transfers.
The report adds that while they would like to sign Vieira permanently, they are not desperate for reinforcements in their midfield.
Former Arsenal man Albert Sambi Lokonga is a key player alongside club captain Nicolai Remberg, while Albert Gronbaek, Martin Adeline and new signings Kofi Amoako and Bilal Nadir are also available.
During his loan spell last season, Vieira made 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing five assists. He was used in a variety of positions including central midfield, attacking midfield and on the right wing.

The 26-year-old joined Arsenal from Porto in 2022, but has spent the last two season out on loan, returning to his former club for the 2024/25 campaign.
The 26-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract at the Emirates Stadium, meaning that the Gunners risk losing him for nothing in 12 months time if a deal is not agreed.
With Arsenal pushing for a deal for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, Vieira is unlikely to get much of a chance of regular game time at the club this season.
The somewhat of a standoff between Andrea Berta and Hamburg could allow another team to come in and make their move before the end of the window.
The German club are hoping that doesn’t happen and Arsenal reduce their asking price more as the deadline approaches.
