Liverpool could face competition from Manchester United if they are looking to secure the signature of Wilfried Singo.
According to [Football Muse](https://www.footballmuse.com/news/transfer-insider-osimhen-to-spurs-everton-rebuffed-singo-seeks-premier-league-move), Liverpool are “actively scouting” the centre-back.
The Galatasaray defender featured twice for Ivory Coast in the World Cup and assisted the goal as they picked up a victory in the first round against Ecuador.
Singo would also bring some necessary Champions League experience to Liverpool having played in the competition over the last two seasons for Monaco and Galatasaray.
Having bought Singo for €30 million last summer from Monaco, it is reported that Galatasaray would be looking for at least £40 million from a Premier League club. Their case would be helped if the two most successful sides in English football history were to be competing over the player.
Liverpool have been linked with a range of centre-back targets over the last few weeks, including the likes of [Jarrel Quansah](https://readliverpoolfc.com/transfers/liverpool-could-use-buy-back-clause-to-solve-defensive-crisis/) and Ilya Zabarnyi. Liverpool go into the 2026/27 season with Virgil van Dijk as a lock-in at left centre-back. Joe Gomez picked up an injury in the first 10 minutes of the first pre-season friendly. Jeremy Jacquet is the new signing at centre-back, but due to an injury that he carried into the season, he didn’t get to play any minutes in the US Tour.
Liverpool have a real lack of depth in this position and could do with at least one more signing in defence.
