Arsenal have stepped up talks over Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes and the Premier League champions have entered formals discussions to sign the midfielder this summer.
Arsenal’s pursuit of Vinicius Jr continues, too, although Real Madrid are said to have offered fresh terms to the Brazilian after his return to training this week.
Manchester United want to sign a left-back, meanwhile, and the Newcastle exodus may continue with Lewis Hall now set on a move to Old Trafford.
Liverpool want to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, and the European champions may have already landed his replacement: Maghnes Akliouche is set to join PSG from Monaco.

Arsenal step up talks with Newcastle over signing of Bruno Guimaraes
Arsenal stepped up their talks with Newcastle United this afternoon and entered formal discussions over the transfer of the midfielder, and those negotiations are now moving rapidly.
David Ornstein reports that Arsenal are nearing “total agreement” with Newcastle to sign Guimaraes. The Magpies had knocked back Arsenal’s first bid, but have seemingly returned with a better offer.
The 28-year-old now just needs permission to undergo a medical at Arsenal. Guimaraes joined up with Newcastle’s pre-season training camp in La Manga but wants to joint the Premier League champions.

Mikel Arteta provides update on Arsenal transfer plans
Mikel Arteta has declared Arsenal’s ambition to make moves in the transfer market over the next few weeks.
"We expect to have movements in the next few weeks, obviously," said Arteta after his side's 4-1 pre-season win over Girona at the weekend.
"We want to get better like anybody else, and you can see the transfer market and our opponents... We won't sit still and we are very ambitious with what we are doing.
"The margins are very small. Because we want to get better and the level is going to increase. We need to increase the competition internally. We need to make sure we identify the things that we don't have in the team."

Ajax and Real Betis have made contact with AZ Alkmaar about Troy Parrott, in a deal that could go beyond £25m. All of Fulham, Como and PSV Eindhoven are meanwhile surveying how it develops, with a view to potentially trying to hijack any deal.
Parrott has had another sensational season with AZ, with one of many peaks the five goals against Portugal and Hungary in November's international break, that took Ireland into a World Cup play-off.

Aston Villa successful in Cas appeal to sign teenager
Aston Villa’s appeal to register promising teenager Brian Madjo has proved successful.
Villa had appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport after the 17-year-old striker was prevented from playing in official competition due to Fifa’s rules on the international transfer of minors.
Enfield-born Madjo, who left England at a young age and was raised in Luxembourg, joined Villa from French club Metz in January.
Madjo has scored scored four goals in pre-season so far, including two in the 5-0 friendly win at Walsall.
A club statement read: “The court’s decision today means that Brian will be registered as an Aston Villa player and eligible to play in official competition matches for the forthcoming season.”

Arsene Wenger hits out at Gianni Infantino's abandoned World Cup plan
Fifa’s chief of global football development Arsene Wenger says Gianni Infantino’s decision to withdraw from a plan to sell stakes in a World Cup company to private investors was “absolutely necessary and beyond question”.
Former Arsenal manager Wenger issued a statement on Tuesday morning a week on from the first reports emerging about Infantino’s plan to create Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE) and sell a 20 per cent stake in it to private equity.
The plan was rejected by three continental confederations, with Uefa going further and threatening to boycott the World Cup and other Fifa competitions if it was not dropped.
Wenger did not indicate any intention to follow Infantino’s senior adviser Carlos Cordeiro in quitting the organisation, but made clear he was opposed to the FFE plan, saying he believed in Fifa serving the game with “commitment, transparency, and integrity”.
