Mohamed Salah could be close to finding his new club, with the former Liverpool star having still not signed for a team after bringing his nine-year spell at Anfield to an end

Mohamed Salah has reportedly reached an agreement with another Turkish side, with Trabzonspor claimed to be “waiting” to sign the former Liverpool star.
Having brought his nine-year spell at Anfield to an end this summer after waiving the final year of his contract, Salah is yet to find his new club - not that he hasn’t apparently been short of options.
The 34-year-old has long been touted for a move to Saudi Arabia after Al-Ittihad’s failed attempt to sign him back in 2023, while the MLS has emerged as an option in recent months, with Sporting Kansas City having been a surprise contender for his signature.
The most recent reports have heavily linked him with a move to Turkiye, with Besiktas having looked to have been the favorite at one point.
Salah was claimed to have agreed personal terms, although Besiktas sporting director Onder Ozent revealed last week that a take-it-or-leave-it offer had effectively been made, and also suggested that the winger was in talks with another club.
That team may well have been Trabzonspor, with Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu now claiming the club has reached an agreement on a two-year deal.

Trabzonspor is said to be waiting for approval on one of the clauses inserted in the contract before making the signing official. The news comes just days after it was claimed that Salah had been offered a deal by the club which earn him around $20 million (€17M) a year, with some reports even suggesting he could be earning as much as $25 million.
That’s despite Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan denying that any such agreement had been reached with Salah, while also avoiding revealing whether the club had been in contact with the Egyptian.
"There is no such agreement," Dogan told the Turkish outlet A Spor. "As for plans to bring him to Trabzon, there is no such plan; there is nothing to it.
"If there were such a plan, information would be provided from our side, the press would be informed, and so on. There is no such thing."

Dogan added: "Salah is a very professional, highly successful player known worldwide.
"He is one of the players with the best careers out there. Of course, who wouldn't want Salah? That is a separate matter.
"But as of now, there is no such agreement involving our club. I am emphasizing this, though perhaps I am not getting the message across clearly: there is no such agreement."
Liverpool.com says: It does feel like every Turkish club is going to reach an agreement with Salah by the end of the summer if this carries on.
Having said that, a move to Turkiye perhaps makes the most sense for him, especially if he wants to continue playing in Europe. Surely he will find a new club soon - it’s odd that he still hasn’t signed anywhere with the new season so close now.
